Method

  1. Mash the banana directly in a lidded jar or food container.

  2. Whisk the protein powder into the milk until smooth, then add it with the oats, yogurt, cinnamon and most of the walnuts.

  3. Stir thoroughly, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.

  4. Stir before eating. Loosen with a splash of milk if needed, then add the reserved walnuts and optional banana.

ALLERGENS

Contains milk and walnuts. Contains almonds only when almond drink is used. Oats may contain gluten unless certified gluten-free. Check the protein powder label.

STORAGE & REHEATING

Keep covered in the refrigerator and eat within 2 days. Add fresh banana topping immediately before serving to limit browning.

COACH NOTE

Convenient for busy mornings. The protein powder and milk brand make a large difference to the final nutrition, so use the verified version once published.

EQUIPMENT

Lidded jar or food container, small bowl, fork and spoon.

PRACTICAL ADJUSTMENTS

Use certified gluten-free oats if needed. Replace walnuts with pumpkin seeds for a nut-free version and use a suitable dairy-free yogurt and protein powder for a dairy-free version.

FREEZER GUIDANCE

Not recommended; the yogurt and banana texture can become watery after thawing.

DIETARY SUITABILITY

As written: vegetarian.

Dairy-free: use suitable dairy-free yogurt and protein powder.

Nut-free: replace walnuts with pumpkin seeds and use a nut-free milk.

Gluten-free: use certified gluten-free oats.

Recalculate nutrition after substitutions.
